Writing a Stronger Next Chapter

Helping busy adults reclaim their lives so they can thrive in their 40's and 50's

At Resolve, we understand life to this point has been focused on career, family, and other responsibilities- you're overextended and you've taken a backseat. For many of us in our 40s and 50s, the focus shifts toward maintenance rather than growth. We disagree. We see this stage of life as the perfect opportunity to reclaim the energy, capability, and resilience that might have slipped away during the busy years of career building and parenting. We want to help you make your 40's and 50's the best decades of your life!

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower 1,000 people to rewrite their life stories through physical fitness. We take a holistic approach—physical, mental, and emotional—so you can build steady strength, confidence, and resilience to live with resolve and intention.

Core Values

Be a Safe Person

Safety is the foundation of our training and community. We provide a secure, inclusive space where members of all levels are free from judgment.

Consistency > Intensity

Fitness is a long game. Trust the process even when motivation fades. Consistent action builds a resilient and high-performance life.

Bring your best.

Show up with intentionality. If you only have 20% to give, make sure it’s 100% of your 20%. Effort defines your path.

Be on time, be prepared, be intentional.

We honor our members' time by being prepared and intentional with every minute. Readiness ensures maximum training efficiency.

We, not Me.

Faster alone, but further together. We are for each other, building a community that supports individual and collective growth.

Be Responsible, take ownership.

We are responsible for our successes and failures. We welcome failure as our greatest teacher on the road to improvement.

Do the right thing. Integrity matters.

We do what is right, not what is easy. Integrity in movement and interaction defines the standard of our professional fitness community.

Find Story Moments

Stories are powerful. We strive to make your story worth telling. The best stories are always worth telling.

Celebrate the W’s

Big or Small, they all matter!

Have Fun!

If we aren’t having fun, we’re probably doing it wrong!

Meet Isak, Owner of Resolve Functional Fitness

Professional Background & Experience

  • Education: Degree in Athletic Training from San Diego State University.

  • Athletic Training Experience: Including 4 years of collegiate athletics and 7 years of professional baseball.

  • 5 years of personal training and small group fitness coaching.

  • My education and experience give me a strong foundation in understanding the human body, movement, and the physical demands on the body from everyday living to athletic performance.

My Story. It's long, but worth it.

  • For most of my life, I struggled with my weight. I spent years trying to figure out how to change, but I never understood what I was doing wrong. I bought into the idea that losing weight was simply a matter of calories in versus calories out. I'd work out hard, restrict my calories, and find some success when life was less hectic. But when work, school, and other responsibilities piled up, the weight would come back.

I knew I wanted something different. I just didn't know how to get there.

In 2013, after seeing my brother make meaningful changes in his own life, I reached out to him for guidance. I began changing my approach to nutrition, exercise, and my daily habits. Even while working a demanding schedule that had me traveling every other week, I was able to lose the weight and keep it off.

But the biggest changes went far beyond the physical.

For the first time, I began to recognize how much my weight had influenced the way I lived. I had passed up activities, opportunities, and even potential career paths because I didn't feel capable or confident enough to pursue them. I hadn't fully realized how much I had allowed my weight to shape what I believed was possible for myself.

  • Why Resolve?

Through my own journey, I learned something I hadn't fully understood before: lasting change takes more than knowing what to do.

It takes patience, consistency, and a willingness to keep showing up when life gets busy. It requires changing how you think just as much as changing what you do. And it takes grit and resilience to keep going long after the initial motivation wears off.

I experienced firsthand how the right guidance and a sustainable approach could change not only my body, but also my mindset, my confidence, and the way I approached life. I began to see possibilities for myself that I hadn't considered before.

That's why I created Resolve Functional Fitness.

  • I wanted to pursue the passion I'd discovered and help others experience that same kind of transformation.

My mission is to help people develop the resolve to follow through on the commitments they make to themselves, their families, and their futures.

I believe meaningful change is possible for ordinary people living busy, imperfect lives. You don't need to be naturally athletic, exceptionally disciplined, or have everything figured out. You need the right guidance, a plan that works for your life, and the willingness to keep moving forward.

That's the approach I bring to Resolve. No gimmicks. No unnecessary complexity.

Just a commitment to the fundamentals, consistent effort, and coaching that meets you where you are.

  • Building Strength for the Life You Want

For me, fitness has never been just about how you look. It's about what you believe you're capable of doing.

It's about having the strength to keep up with your kids, the confidence to try something new, the energy to enjoy the things you love, and the resilience to face life's challenges.

It's about no longer allowing your perceived limitations to dictate the opportunities you pursue or the life you choose to live.

Today, my goal is to help busy adults build strength, improve their health, and make their 40s and 50s some of the best decades of their lives.

Not by becoming someone else, but by discovering what they're capable of when they commit to themselves and their future.

That's what Resolve means to me. And I'd be honored to help you build it for yourself.
